Laich of Moray Parish Church (formerly Lossiemouth Church of Scotland)

This is the message Jean Symon, Session Clerk, read out at the morning service on 14 February 2016 – a ‘thank you’ from Graham:

Please say a big ‘thank you’ to all the congregation for the wonderful gifts and good wishes, as we leave to start a new chapter of our lives in Perth.

The Ceilidh was a wonderful night and we are quite overwhelmed with people’s generosity.

Lossiemouth and St. James’, in particular, will always have a fond place in our hearts.

Our mission is to be a Christian community sharing the love of Christ, reaching out to the people in this area and encouraging them to worship God and grow in the knowledge of the care and love of Christ.

The St James’ Good News Club meets every Sunday at 11am.

The children go into the Church for the first part of the morning service, to enjoy the Children’s Talk from Mr Crawford, the Children’s songs and the Time of Praise in the service.

We then go out to the Fellowship for our own activities, which usually include a prayer, a song or two and some games and crafts.

Recent themes have included David and Goliath, and the Parable of the Sower.

In the lead up to Christmas 2014, we are making Chrismons.

These are Christmas decorations featuring Christian symbols, such as the Triumphant Cross and the Fish.

They help us to remember that Christmas is the celebration of Jesus’s birthday.

Father, I thank you that I am valuable to you.
I thank you that you hear my prayers.
I thank you that you know my needs.
Help me live in my true identity today.
Help me to be worry free.
By your Spirit, may I experience your peace afresh.
Amen.
