Waiting in hope for good to come

November 28, 2020 by 2

Sunday 29 November 2020 is the First Sunday of Advent and the beginning of a new Church year.

The Lectionary readings for this week are Isaiah 64:1-9 and Psalm 80:1-7, 17-19, 1 Corinthians 1:3-9 and Mark 13:24-37. The reading from Mark’s Gospel is the basis for Geoff’s sermon.

Below you will find the four Lectionary passages in full, prayers, Geoff’s audio sermon and Kath’s musical selection.

A candle is burning, a flame warm and bright,
A candle of HOPE in November’s dark night
While angels sing blessings from heaven’s starry sky,
Our hearts we prepare now for Jesus is nigh

Reopening of St James’ Church Building

November 10, 2020 by 2

St James’ Church building will reopen for services of worship from Sunday 15 November 2020.

The services will resume at their usual time of 10:00am.

They will be restricted in many ways – e.g. no singing; some parts of the building still closed; attendance capacity between only 19 and 32 persons, depending on how many couples and single people attend; and you must book ahead of time if you want to attend – you cannot just turn up on spec.

However, as we hope you will agree, this does feel like a step in the right direction!

A booking system is in place.

Further details have already been circulated by physical letter to members and adherents of the Church.

If you would like more information about attending one of the forthcoming services, please feel free to contact us via this website.
