Will you embrace the view or will you shrink from it?

December 12, 2020 by 2

The Third Sunday of Advent falls on 13 December 2020 and the Lectionary readings for this week are: Isaiah 61:1-4, 8-11 and Psalm 126; and 1 Thessalonians 5: 16-24 and John 1:6-8, 19-28.

The passages from John’s Gospel (John the Baptist denies being the Messiah) are the basis for Rev. Geoff McKee’s sermon this week.

Preparing a pathway to God through hope not fear

December 5, 2020 by 2

06 December 2020 is the Second Sunday of Advent, with Lectionary scriptures of Isaiah 40:1-11 and Psalm 85:1-2, 8-13; and 2 Peter 3:8-15a and Mark 1:1-8.

Geoff’s sermon is based on the passages from Isaiah (Old Testament) and Mark (New Testament). The title of the section from Isaiah is Comfort for God’s People. The text from Mark’s Gospel – John the Baptist Prepares the Way – quotes some of Isaiah’s words. In this Advent season, we continue the theme of Preparation.

You will find the 4 Lectionary readings below, together with the audio sermon, prayers and a musical selection.

Harvest Thanksgiving 2025

October 18, 2025 By 2

Our Ordained Local Minister (“OLM”), Anne-Marie Simpson, led worship at Lossiemouth Church of Scotland on Sunday 12 October 2025.

Didn’t the decoration of the Communion Table look lovely?

Many thanks to all who helped in making the Church look its best for the annual Harvest celebration.

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

– Galatians 6:9
