June 23, 2015 by 2

A Lossiemouth Community Celebration

Yvonne Findlay of Creative Visions Moray and Tim Flood of EMP Video are spearheading an exciting project for Lossiemouth in the Summer of 2015, as Yvonne explains via the video below:

This summer, we are celebrating the lives and times of the people of Lossiemouth, past and present.

We are running a filmmaking project with a story exhibition of your stories and photos, which we’ll show at the end of October.

We’ve a great young team working with us as they themselves learn filmmaking and animation techniques – and they are going to be interviewing some people around the town with lots of fascinating stories to tell. [Read more…]

Blethers ‘n’ Bakes Raise Funds for Cancer Research

As highlighted in a previous post, the coffee morning in St James, which brought January to a close, meant that the Dryathlon ladies achieved fantastic success at the end of their month of abstinence.

They would like to  thank those who so generously donated online, contributed to the coffee morning on Saturday 31 January 2015 and who put up with “their grumpiness at nae being able tae enjoy an occasional glass of wine”. [Read more…]

We become “Laich of Moray Parish Church” from 01 February 2026

January 12, 2026 By 2

Interim Moderator, Rev. Eddie Enslin (Minister at Bellie and Speymouth Parish Church), announced at the beginning of the joint all-age worship service at Duffus Kirk that the existing Parishes of Duffus, Spynie and Hopeman, on the one hand, and Lossiemouth, on the other hand, will unite as one Parish – “Laich of Moray Parish Church” – from 01 February 2026.

There will be a Service of Union to be held in Lossiemouth (former St. James’ building) on the afternoon of Sunday 15 February 2026 at 3pm. The service will be conducted by Moderator of the Presbytery of the North East & Northern Isles, Rev. Shuna Dicks.

In his sermon at Duffus Kirk, Mr Enslin used the story of Jesus’ first miracle – turning water into wine at the wedding in Cana – as a metaphor for the unfolding situation leading to the union of these two parishes.
