The “Lossiemouth Northern Lights” Community film project featuring the history of Lossiemouth and starring the people of Lossiemouth has its final public showing in St James’ Church on Saturday 12 December 2015.
In the Summer of 2015, a small group of local young people were trained in aspects of film-making, animation, interview techniques and presentation skills. They put those skills into practice by interviewing local people in order to explore the history of Lossiemouth from the time of the Stotfield Disaster (1806) to the present day. Their experience was enhanced by music, poetry and performance.
Demand for the DVD ‘Lossiemouth Northern Lights’ has been so great that extra copies have had to be made. Yvonne Findlay, from film-makers Creative Visions Moray, hopes that the second run will be snapped up by people looking for additional stocking-fillers for Christmas.
Today, at 2pm, St James’ Church hosts a final opportunity to view the film and the exhibition of photographs and artefacts gathered in the making of the project
The DVD can also be obtained at Buckley’s Newsagents on Queen Street, Lossiemouth. It has a running time of 1 hour 31 minutes.
