Though it did not receive any external project funding, the Lossiemouth Northern Lights Community Film Project has almost recouped its production costs.

Thanks to worldwide sales of the DVD, Yvonne Findlay of Creative Visions Moray was delighted to gift back to St James’ Church the £1,000 sponsorship the church had donated to launch the community project in the first place.

The cheque presentation from Lossiemouth Northern Lights took place in the Church Hall.  Those pictured (left to right) are: Jean Symon, Session Clerk; Yvonne Findlay; Neil Smith, Church Treasurer; Charles Stewart, Elder; and Rev. Geoff McKee, our Minister.

St Gerardine’s High Church, Lossiemouth Baptist Church and Moray Golf Club also supported the project by hosting screenings of the film.

Other local charities which will benefit from the project are:

• The Fishermen’s Mission
• The Lossiemouth Fisheries Museum, and
• Covesea Lighthouse
